TietoEnator acquires SAP business for the utilities sector in Germany
15.12.2006 (tietoenator) TietoEnator strengthens its capabilities to serve utilities in Europe by acquiring the business of TOPAS Consulting GmbH in Germany. The acquisition agreement includes 74 employees located in Dortmund and Mannheim, Germany. The acquisition supports TietoEnator's capabilities in the energy sector by expanding it's SAP knowledge and at the same time extending customer base with important European utilities. The closing of the transaction is expected to take place at the beginning of October.
The net sales of the business in 2005 were EUR 8.5 million. The Company's performance is based on long and deep SAP knowledge and strong focus to the utility sector, which will both be continued as part of TietoEnator. The price of the acquisition is 7.3 Million Euros.
"By this acquisition TietoEnator will get a successful SAP business, which brings mature SAP experts and wide customer base. Both perfectly fit into TietoEnator Energy business unit. We will be able to further expand our offering to the biggest European utilities", says Per Bakseter, the head of TietoEnator's energy business.
"Our SAP consultancy has been very successful in the past. However, in order to boost growth we have been looking for a professional partner, which we found in TietoEnator", says Managing Director Jürgen Muth TOPAS.
