Basware Incorporates its E-Invoicing Unit
04.12.2006 (basware) BasWare Board of Directors has resolved to incorporate the international eInvoicing unit as of December 1, 2006. The new company will be named BasWare eInvoices Oy with Petri Karjalainen as Managing Director. BasWare is a significant player in the Finnish eInvoicing market and the aim is to strengthen the position in Scandinavia and later on also internationally.
BasWare eInvoices Oy develops software and services for eInvoicing and distributes them internationally to end-users, partners and other eInvoicing operators. BasWare eInvoices Oy will pull together the whole Group's eInvoicing expertise. The company has operations and personnel in all the Nordic countries. eInvoicing represents approximately three percent of the total net sales of BasWare in 2006.
"BasWare eInvoices Oy aims at becoming one of the leading players in the European eInvoicing market. Currently we transmit approximately 500,000 eInvoices a month, and we have agreements with over 20 operators. The volume of invoices transmitted through our eInvoicing service continues to grow steadily and we expect this development to remain positive. In the future we particularly plan to strengthen our operations in cooperation with selected strategic partners," says Petri Karjalainen.
BasWare eInvoices Oy focuses on producing electronic invoices and promoting eInvoicing and similar exchange of information. BasWare Business Transactions has transmitted eInvoices since the year 2000 and it has a clientele of over 1,600 organisations. The headquarters and service unit are located in Finland.
